Poplar Bungs
Poplar bungs are by far the most popular specie of wooden barrel bungs. Used by cooperages and distilleries for over a century, poplar expands well to create a tight seal, but is also soft enough to eliminate any risk of damaging the barrel. With the industry standard 5-degree taper, our bungs are designed to ensure a perfect fit into tapered holes. The standard 2” bung fits the majority of 53-gallon spirit barrels, but we stock several other sizes as well. Custom diameters and thicknesses are also available upon request. All bungs are made from kiln-dried lumber and have a diameter tolerance of +/- 0.010”.

Standard shipping is $19.95 per order for orders with a subtotal less than $30. Orders over $30 have a flat shipping rate of $14.95 per order. Shipping will be added to your order at checkout. Products shipped within the lower 48 states should arrive in less than 5 days. Orders totaling $50 or more qualify for free standard shipping.

Returns must be approved before being shipped back to Cincinnati Dowel & Wood Products. Products that have been altered may not be returned.
